The best weather for a holiday in Geneva is during July and August, when the city attracts thousands of tourists. The most pleasant time to travel to Geneva is during spring and autumn seasons, as the crowd is less during these seasons. To access the ski resorts, you should travel during late winter and visit in December to enjoy the l'Escalade Festival.
The city’s landmark attraction and Europe’s most powerful fountain is Jet d'Eau, situated at the south shore of Lake Geneva which shoots water 460ft (140m) into the sky from the end of a pier. Geneva has a lively cultural calendar, as it’s a host of museums and fine galleries.
Other famous places to visit in Geneva are the Reformation Wall, the Flower Clock, the Palais des Nations, Château de Chillon (a medieval castle, most visited historical building in Switzerland) and the Saint-Pierre Cathedral.

The main shopping centres and business districts can be found near The Rive Gauche.
